Work programme 2009-2012

The four-year work programme 2009–2012 Europe at work: Better life and opportunities for all is designed to produce comparative analyses and forward-looking studies on the impact of the key drivers of change – globalisation, technological innovation, demographic trends and climate change – on living and working conditions in Europe. The programme aims to identify practical approaches and best practices to directing change successfully as Europe moves towards the post-Lisbon era.

The 2009–2012 research and communication activities are grouped into three broad focus areas: employment growth and supply of labour in changing labour markets; more and better jobs and higher productivity through partnership; and promotion of social inclusion and sustainable social protection. The four-year programme was implemented through annual programmes for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Work programme 2005-2008

Changing Europe: Better work, better life set out the strategic framework for Eurofound's work over this period. The fundamental aim of the programme was to look ahead to the opportunities and challenges facing the new Europe of 25 Member States in the aftermath of the historic enlargement of the EU on May 2004.

The revised Lisbon Strategy focuses on two main areas: productivity and employment, while not losing sight of the need for a social safety net. In this context, the four-year programme 2005-8, aimed to provide knowledge from monitoring activities and other research to better understand the challenges, support change in society and the economy, and offer its stakeholders the information necessary for managing change. The four-year programme was implemented through annual programmes for 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008.

Work Programme 2001-2004

Eurofound's last four year programme, Analysing and Anticipating Change to support Socio-Economic Progress has finished. The results of this work have either been published already or will be published during 2005. Each year, within the context of the four-year programme, an annual programme of work was prepared. See the programmes for 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.

Work Progamme 1997-2000

The work programme for 1997-2000, Facing up to the challenges of European society, concentrated on six major challenges facing European society: employment, equal opportunities, health and well-being, participation, social cohesion, and sustainable development.
