Quality of life
Covers factors affecting quality of life, including living conditions and living standards, social inclusion and subjective feelings of well-being.
Quality of life has always been a key priority of European social policy. However, challenges arising from low employment rates, an ageing population, changing family structures and social exclusion have given quality-of-life issues an added urgency. Eurofound research seeks to inform the creation of policies to improve living standards and promote social cohesion, particularly in the face of these challenges.
Eurofound’s wealth of data permits a multidimensional perspective on quality of life, providing a detailed picture of European citizens’ standard of living, and an insight into how they view their lives, their families and their societies. Other research explores how quality-of-life challenges are being addressed through policy initiatives and which factors influence their success.
