Basic navigation

All EIROnline pages have the same basic structure. At the top of the screen the EIROnline logo on the left will always bring you back to the home page. The logo of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions, in the top right corner, brings you to the Foundation's main site (EIRO is part of the Foundation). Just below the Foundation logo, the buttons for search, site map, help and contact appear on every page. On the left side of every page, there are a set of standard buttons allowing users to browse the articles held in the database by country, sector and date.

Content

Comparative information

This first item on the left hand menu will give you access to comparative data such as: annual reviews, comparative studies (including annual updates), thematic features, and other EIRO reports.

Comparative studies and thematic features focus on one particular topical issue in industrial relations and its treatment across the countries covered by EIRO. They consist of a comparative overview, based mainly on brief national reports drawn up by each national correspondent, and those national reports. The questionnaires on which these studies are based are also included.

Annual updates are produced once a year and aim to provide a broad, general indication of trends in pay increases and working time lengths in various sectors across the EU Member States and Norway.

EU-level developments

This hyperlink will bring you to information updates and articles covering the most significant developments, activities and issues in industrial relations at the European level. These articles are produced on a regular basis by the EIRO EU-level correspondents.

European industrial relations links

This is a list of websites which may be of interest to EIROnline users. The links are grouped by country, and within countries under the categories of 'employers', 'trade unions', 'government' and 'other'. There are also links to: the EU institutions and related bodies; other European and international organisations; and European and international trade union and employers' organisations. Users are encouraged to suggest additions to the list.

European industrial relations dictionary

Clicking on the blue image below the left hand menu on the home page will bring you to this easy-to-use online reference tool. The European industrial relations dictionary is a comprehensive collection of the most commonly used terms in employment and industrial relations at EU level today. It is regularly updated.

Searching

There is a search box at the top of every page. The Google search facility common to all Foundation websites allows you to conduct a basic search or an advanced search in: all websites, Eurofound, EIRO, EMCC, or EWCO websites in particular.

We are aware of limitations in searching with non-English characters and are working on a solution.
