Additional information

German insurer Ergo has announced to cut up to 1,350 sales jobs until 2014. The job cuts will affect the sales departments in Hamburg, Mannheim, Cologne, Berlin and Munich, while a new sales department will be located at Dusseldorf.

Ergo is the result of the consolidation of five Munich Re subsidiaries. Consequently, the restructuring plan comprises the closing of the five original sales departments and the establishment of a single new one.
Ergo employs a total sales staff of 5,000. Another 10,000 sales persons are self-employed.
