All employees are eligible for this leave, both those on temporary and permanent employment contracts. This is regardless of the number of workers in the enterprise. Seniority of at least 24 consecutive months applies, at least 12 months of which must be in the same enterprise.

Main Characteristics

This involves long leave periods  of up to one year for a full-time training course or 1,200 hours for a part-time course. Grant of a leave to try out new work while enjoying a protected status (upright employment)
