Using the European Restructuring Monitor
Fact Sheets
Fact sheets can be searched by different criteria:
- Search by 'country', by 'sector', or by 'type of restructuring'
- Search by 'job reduction start'.
- Search by 'job reduction timeline'.
- Search by 'company'.
- Search by 'group'.
The search results can be sorted by selecting one of the columns, for example:
- 'Type of restructuring'.
ERM quarterly
Each bulletin covers a three month period. They summarise the major restructuring cases during this period, and provide an overview of developments since April 2002.
Statistics
On the statistics page you can compare the scale of job reductions (actual and announced) per country, sector or type of restructuring. The comparison can be done on the basis of the whole data set or part of it. The compilation of results is shown in the form of a cross-tabulation table.
Example of use
To compare the scale of job reductions per country across the whole data set :
- select the variable 'country';
- submit your query.
To compare the scale of job reductions per country announced for 2004:
- select the variable 'country';
- choose 2004-01 to 2004-12 in the field 'job reduction timeline';
- submit your query.
The analysis is purely descriptive and only covers the cases collected in the European Restructuring Monitor. If the search parameters are too restrictive, the results will not be significant.
