POSITIVE DISCRIMINATION

Term used to indicate measures which, although embodying unequal treatment by favouring a particular group, are actually thereby directed at removing existing inequalities. Positive discrimination is lawful in Belgium, but up to now not widely used. See discrimination , equal treatment .
