ARBITRATION
| DENMARK |
| VOLDGIFT ARBITRATION |
Process for the settlement of disputes through a private judicial body (i.e. rather than the ordinary courts) set up between the parties and presided over by an impartial chairperson (opmand). Private arbitration is regulated in Denmark by a special Arbitration Act . In the field of industrial relations the process is referred to as faglig voldgift (industrial arbitration): see industrial arbitration tribunal . In order to avoid the publicity surrounding a court ruling, the parties often agree to opt for arbitration in cases involving senior managerial staff. See also dispute resolution .
