QUASI-CONTRACT

DENMARK
KVASILØFTE
QUASI-CONTRACT

Legal concept covering cases where a person is deemed to be legally bound by virtue of their conduct although the latter does not constitute giving an actual promise or undertaking. It means, for example, that a person who keeps goods which they have not ordered is under an obligation to pay for them. In Danish labour law one of its effects is that the employer is obliged to pay for work performed even under a contract of employment which is invalid according to the rules on legal capacity.
