|CODE DU TRAVAIL
Most (though not all) French legislative and regulatory texts concerning employment as an employee and the relationships which are established in connection with it have been collected together and classified in a document called the Labour Code.
This classification is purely administrative and is a compilation or consolidation, rather than a codification in the historical sense of the word.
The first Labour Code was promulgated between 1920 and 1927; the current one dates from 1973 but is continuously updated, by decree.
Please note: the European industrial relations glossaries were compiled between 1991 and 2003 and are not updated. For current material see the European industrial relations dictionary.
