NOTICE OF TERMINATION OF A COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT
| FRANCE |
| DÉNONCIATION (ACCORD COLLECTIF) NOTICE OF TERMINATION OF A COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT |
Unilateral legal act whereby one or other of the parties to a collective agreement of indeterminate duration evidences an intention to bring it to an end.
Such termination is regulated by law, as regards both the form it must take and its consequences. Essentially, when notice of termination emanates from only one or some of the signatory unions, it takes effect only with respect to that union or those unions; the agreement remains in force for the remaining parties. When notice of termination emanates from the employers' side (where there is usually only one signatory), the agreement concerned remains in force until it is replaced by a new one or, failing such replacement, for a period of one year.
