| ALTERSRUHEGELD STATUTORY RETIREMENT PENSION |
Attainment of the retirement (or pensionable) age brings entitlement to a retirement pension under the statutory pension scheme . A different term ("Pension") is used in the case of career public servants ("Beamte"). At present, the retirement age is 60 for women and 63 for men; because of the changed population structure and increasing expenditure on pension insurance, from the years 2012 and 2006 respectively it is to be raised to 65.
