Term used to refer to work demanding predominantly mental effort, including secretarial work and the work of university graduates and white-collar workers. Traditionally, it is contrasted with the physical activity which is considered to be characteristic of manual workers . This distinction is now outdated, although it still exists in certain provisions of Greek labour law.
