| ERGATIKÍ DÝNAMI εργατικέ δύναμη WORKFORCE/LABOUR POWER |
Term designating the entire body of men and women employed in a particular enterprise, sector of production or locality. The employed workforce (or labour force) of an entire society is called the working population (απασχολουμενοζ πληθυσμοζ or εργαζομενοζ).
The term is also used in the sense of "labour power": an individual's capacity for work, i.e. the collection of physical and mental faculties at a person's disposal which they put to use in the production of goods.
The workforce (in the sense of labour force) is considered to be the basic element of production, the most valuable asset at an enterprise's disposal. Terms used to express this particular meaning within the context of the enterprise (instead of εργατικη δυναμη) are ανθρωπινο κεαλαιο (human resources), ανθρωπινοζ παραγονταζ (human factor) and ανθρωπινο δυναμικο (labour force).
