Under Luxembourg law the function of job placement falls within the exclusive competence of the Employment Service , which is responsible both for helping people who are looking for work to find a suitable job and for helping employers to find suitable employees, using the registers it maintains for that purpose. It is stipulated that placement services must be free of charge, and carrying on placement activities as a business is a punishable offence. See also job-seeker , job vacancies .
