COMMISSION

Remuneration which depends on the outcome of work performed either on a self-employed basis or as an employee. It is common in certain activities involving sales, the securing of customers or contracts and the like (e.g. commercial representatives). In the case of employees it is generally paid in addition to a fixed wage or salary, thus becoming a type of pay supplement, similar to bonuses or incentive payments.
