Manual worker; skilled craft, semi-skilled or unskilled worker. To be distinguished from white- collar worker . Blue-collar workers are usually paid on a weekly basis, and often enjoy less advantageous conditions of service (e.g. holidays) than white-collar, although these differences are being reduced through managerial policies of harmonization .
