TRADE UNION ACT 1984 (TUA 84)
| UNITED KINGDOM |
| TRADE UNION ACT 1984 (TUA 84) |
This Act required trade unions to hold secret ballots in respect of the election of their principal executive committees and on the continuance (as well as establishment) of their political funds . It also withdrew the immunities from official industrial action which had not been the subject of a valid ballot. Most of its provisions did not apply to Northern Ireland nor to trade unions with their head or main offices in Northern Ireland. The Act was repealed by TULRCA 1992 which consolidated existing labour law (including provisions subsequent to TUA) into one statute.
