Eurofound and the Bertelsmann Stiftung will be presenting the results of a joint analysis and policy brief [see Latest content] on Monday 24 November at a launch conference in Brussels.

The social and economic consequences of the European financial crisis and growing social inequality have had a tremendous impact on the social fabric within the EU. It is against this background that Eurofound and the Bertelsmann Stiftung have pooled their expertise to analyse the relationship between social cohesion and subjective well-being in the EU-27 countries. Issues such as the impact of income inequality on social cohesion and subjective well-being will be considered.

The event will bring together around 60 representatives from the EU Commission, the EU Parliament as well as experts from science and non-governmental organisations. It will be an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and debate the evidence on well-being and social policy, as well as examining the importance of social investment in improving quality of life in the EU.

Erika Mezger, Deputy Director, and Daphne Ahrendt, Research Manager, will both contribute to the event for Eurofound.

Participation is by invitation only.
