Skills and training
Skills and training
The percentage of workers receiving training paid for by their employers
has decreased from 2000 (30.6%) to 2005 (27.1%). The Fourth European
Working Conditions Survey (2005) found that only 27% of workers had
received training paid for by their employers in the previous 12 months,
whereas
6% have
undergone
training which they paid for themselves.
Status of employment is relevant here: most training is given
to workers on permanent contracts (31%), followed by fixed-term contracts
(29%). People working under a temporary-agency contract (18%) or with
no contract (11%) receive least training of all. Workers with a higher
educational level also receive
more training.
