Survey methodology

Access to data

The questionnaire used to gather basic information on the different surveys asked if the questionnaires and raw data are public information and, if so, how they can be accessed.

All the surveys analysed generated one or several publications based on the research. Most of the organisations or institutions responsible publish information on the surveys on the web.

The responses indicated that access is available to all the questionnaires, either upon request to the organisation concerned or attached to published reports.

Access to the raw data is possible only in certain cases or under certain restricted conditions. This availability depends largely on a prior request being made and, sometimes, on certain requirements being fulfilled such as payment of a fee or that the request comes from the research field. In three cases, this study was unable to determine if the raw data is accessible (Korean 'working conditions survey' and Austrian 'ad hoc module accidents'). Access is not possible in a number of cases (for example Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Sweden).
