Quality standards for case studies in the European Foundation

Author: Huws, Ursula; Dahlmann, Simone
Summary: Since the Foundation was created more than 30 years ago, it has carried out research projects with different purposes and different methodologies. The case study has from the beginning been one of the methods of enquiry used. Case study research in the Foundation has taken many different forms and purposes, reflecting the evolution of the Foundation itself and its aims as a research institution providing information and advice to policymakers in the European Union. The primary aim of this report was to develop a unified methodological approach for case study research in the Foundation based on a set of agreed guidelines for carrying out cross-national case study research.
