| Summary: | Almost eight million people are employed in the transport and logistics sector, representing about 5% of total employment. Working conditions for the workforce and demand for their competencies will be influenced by political, economic, environmental, sociodemographic and technological changes in the sector – just as the sector will be influenced by changes in the workforce. This report aims to identify trends and key drivers of change in the EU transport and logistics sector with a particular focus on competitiveness, skills and working conditions. The report is based on a study of existing literature and statistics. |
