Summary: The persistence and complexity of the social economic problems in the European Union which have come to be termed 'social exclusion', have given rise to a range of new approaches and strategies to combat them. This report presents the results of a European research project to analyse in depth one specific approach - the local partnership - its structures, working methods and results. The research outlines implications for action directly relevant to the community sector and soical partners as well as governments and the European Union.
