EWCS 2010 - Health and wellbeing: information about risks

More workers are informed about health and safety risks now than ever before

The proportion of workers who report that they are very well or well informed on health and safety risks related to the performance of their job has increased – up to 90% of workers in 2010. Workers in Turkey (67%), France (81%) and Malta (85%) are the least well informed in Europe, while workers in Ireland (97%), Hungary (95%) and Latvia (96%) are the most well informed. Women report being slightly better informed than men.

‘However there still are inequalities between people with different types of occupations with low-skilled workers often being worse informed about health and safety risks than high-skilled workers’, says Greet Vermeylen, research manager at Eurofound.

How well informed are you about health and safety risks related to your job? (q30)
