    2008 marked the completion of Eurofound’s four-year programme, Changing Europe: Better work, better life. Eurofound built on its work of previous years in providing comparative information, research and analysis on living and working conditions, industrial relations and the management of change for key actors in the field of EU social policy. As outlined in the 2005–2008 programme, Eurofound’s work is divided into three key tasks: monitoring and understanding change, researching and exploring what works, and communicating and sharing ideas and experience. Within these three tasks, its activities fall into four thematic areas: employment, industrial relations and partnership, work–life balance and social cohesion.

    2005 год. бе първата година от новата четиригодишна работна програма 2005–2008 на Фондацията. Тя се зае с енергия и амбиция със своята нова програма „Променяща се Европа – по-добра работа, по-добър живот”, като събра редица изследователски проекти, за да обхване четирите приоритетни теми за създаване на повече и по- добра заетост, баланс между работата и извънтрудовия живот, подкрепа за участието и партньорствата, и изграждане на социална сплотеност. Акцентът в края на годината бе назначаването на новия директор на Фондацията Йорма Карпинен, който встъпи в длъжност през м.декември.

Политиците на европейско и национално ниво са изправени пред важни решения, свързани с миграцията, заетостта, образованието, равните възможности и социалната политика.     This report provides some perspectives on the effects of trade liberalisation on the European labour market. For its analysis, it draws on data from the European Restructuring Monitor (ERM), the only EU-wide monitoring instrument available. The 2007 ERM report identifies some of the recent and emerging trends in the current phase of globalisation and provides suggestions on how policy should be re-oriented to address these new circumstances.
