Happiness and Life Satisfaction
Source: European Quality of Life Survey
This graph shows the happiness (left) and life satisfaction (right) for 28 Member States and 5 EU candidate countries, comparing values from 2011 and 2016.
You can filter and sort the data by variables such as income, age, activity and gender.
The data was collected as part of Eurofound’s European Quality of Life Survey. Life satisfaction and happiness were recorded on a scale of 1 to 10 with the following questions: Q4 ‘All things considered, how satisfied would you say you are with your life these days? Please tell me on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 means very dissatisfied and 10 means very satisfied’ and Q5 ‘Taking all things together on a scale of 1 to 10, how happy would you say you are? Here 1 means you are very unhappy and 10 means you are very happy’.
Data for EU28 and 5 candidate countries. EQLS 2011 and 2016.
