SOCIAL PLAN (REDUNDANCY PROGRAMME)
SOZIALPLAN

Name given to a programme which may be drawn up in the form of an imposable works agreement in the event of a major change to the establishment entailing serious disadvantages for the entire workforce or a significant proportion of employees, regulating measures to prevent, eliminate or mitigate these consequences. In practice, social plans mainly cover financial arrangements for attending or organizing re-training schemes and special severance payments for employees who have been or are to be dismissed, and therefore resemble a special form of redundancy programme.
