07 Abril 2015
Slovenia's Youth Guarantee strategy for 2014–2015 was approved by the government in January 2014. It sets out a range of measures that are designed to improve the transition from education to employment, to get young unemployed people into vocational training or paid work more quickly, and to reduce unemployment among the young.
Slovenia: Social partners propose solutions to youth unemployment
20 Agosto 2014
A project initiated by the Association of Free Trade Unions of Slovenia focuses on the plight of young people in the labour market. A study, carried out as part of the project, has led to proposals for a range of measures to tackle Slovenia’s high youth unemployment including the revival of apprenticeships and employment counselling. The research shows that young people are having huge difficulties finding jobs: they wait longer for their first job than in the past, and are more likely to be unemployed long term.
Measures to tackle absenteeism and stress at work
31 Julio 2014
Work absenteeism statistics in Slovenia suggest that between 38,000 and
40,000 employees are off work every day. The figures show the country loses
10 million working days a year due to temporary absence from work for health
reasons – such as illness and injury – or because family members need
care.
Slovenian work values before and after EU accession
04 Agosto 2009
This report presents the preferences and opinions of Slovenians regarding
aspects of working conditions in 1997 and 2005. The results are based on the
Slovene Public Opinion Survey as part of the Work Orientations module of the
International Social Survey Programme. The survey reveals that what people
deem important in their work has remained relatively stable over time: job
security, having an interesting job and a high income were the most important
work values in both 1997 and 2005.

Capacity building for social dialogue at sectoral and company level - Slovenia
25 Julio 2007
The project on Social Dialogue Capacity Building at sectoral and company levels is a follow-up of a similar project held at a national level in 2005. The methodology used included carrying out interviews with members of the nationally recognised representative organisations of employers and employees in the eligible countries – Slovenia in this case - and collecting their views of the capacity of their members' organisations. The report reflect their views for the sectoral/branch- and enterprise-level developments.
