How to combine work with life is a fundamental issue for many people, an issue that policymakers, social partners, businesses and individuals are seeking to resolve. Simultaneously, new challenges and solutions are transforming the interface between work and life: an ageing population, technological change, higher employment rates and fewer weekly working hours. This report aims to examine the reciprocal relationship between work and life for people in the EU, the circumstances in which they struggle to reconcile the two domains, and what is most important for ;them in terms of their work-life balance. The report draws on a range of data sources, in particular the European Working Conditions Survey (EWCS) and the European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS).

    Atteindre un équilibre: concilier vie professionnelle et vie privée dans l’UE

    Auteur(s):
    Eurofound

    Le moyen de concilier vie professionnelle et vie privée constitue pour de nombreuses personnes une question fondamentale, à laquelle les décideurs politiques, les partenaires sociaux, les entreprises et les individus tentent de répondre. Dans le même temps, de nouvelles difficultés et solutions transforment la relation entre vie professionnelle et vie privée: population vieillissante, évolution technologique, taux d’emploi plus élevés et nombre restreint d’heures de travail hebdomadaires. Le présent rapport vise à examiner les incidences mutuelles de la vie professionnelle et de la vie privée des personnes au sein de l’UE, les circonstances dans lesquelles celles-ci s’efforcent de concilier les deux domaines, et ce qui importe le plus à leurs yeux en matière d’équilibre entre vie professionnelle et vie privée. Le rapport s’appuie sur un éventail de sources de données, en particulier l’enquête européenne sur les conditions de travail (EWCS) et l’enquête européenne sur la qualité de vie (EQLS).
