Robert Anderson is Head of the Social Policies unit at Eurofound, where he has worked as research manager since 1988 on a range of topics: monitoring quality of life and living conditions in the EU; projects on ageing and changes in employment over the life course; measures to promote the social inclusion of people with chronic illness; and creation of employment in care services. Prior to joining Eurofound, he worked as Programme Manager at the WHO European Office in Copenhagen, with responsibility for the European Regional Programme in Health Promotion. He studied human sciences at Oxford University, and sociology as applied to medicine at Bedford College, London.
Massimiliano Mascherini is senior research manager in the Social Policies unit, where he leads new research on monitoring convergence in the European Union. Since joining Eurofound in 2009, he has designed and coordinated research in the field of youth employment, NEETs and their social inclusion, as well as on topics related to the labour market participation of women. Previously, he was scientific officer at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. He studied at the University of Florence where he majored in Actuarial and Statistical Sciences and then obtained a PhD in Applied Statistics. He has been visiting fellow at the University of Sydney and at Aalborg University. In recent years, he has produced a range of contributions for international peer-reviewed journals, conference proceedings and policy reports.
Klára Fóti is a research manager in the Social Policies unit. Her current research focuses on labour market integration of refugees and asylum seekers. She is also involved in analysing data from the fourth European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS), focusing on social tension and social cohesion. Prior to joining Eurofound in 2008, she worked as senior research fellow at the Institute for World Economics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences, where her research focused on employment developments in the 'Visegrád countries'. She has been visiting fellow at the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex. She holds an MA in International Relations from the Budapest University of Economic Sciences and Public Administration and a PhD in Labour Economics from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences.
Tadas Leončikas is a senior research manager in the Social Policies unit at Eurofound. His main responsibilities relate to management of the European Quality of Life Survey (EQLS) and development of Eurofound survey research. Since joining Eurofound in 2010, he has worked on various topics including survey methods, quality of life, trust, social mobility, social inclusion and housing inadequacies. Previously, he headed up the Institute for Ethnic Studies in Lithuania and worked on minority surveys. As a researcher, he has previously collaborated with the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights, the United Nations Development Programme and the International Organization for Migration. He has a PhD in Sociology.
Daphne Ahrendt is a research manager in the Social Policies unit at Eurofound. Since joining Eurofound in 2013, she has worked on issues related to poverty and deprivation. She was also involved in the preparations for the fourth wave of the European Quality of Life Survey. At present, she is coordinating Eurofound's survey management and development activity. Previously, she worked in the Eurobarometer Unit at the European Commission and on the International Social Survey Programme at the National Centre for Social Research in London. Daphne holds a Master's Degree in Criminal Justice Policies from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from San Francisco State University.
Hans Dubois is a research manager in the Social Policies unit at Eurofound. His research topics include household over-indebtedness, access to healthcare, non-take-up of social benefits, flexible retirement schemes, and quality of life in the local area. Prior to joining Eurofound, he was Assistant Professor at Kozminski University in Warsaw. He completed a PhD in Business Administration and Management at Bocconi University in Milan with a research stay at the International Centre for Policy Studies in Kiev, after working as Research Officer at the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies in Madrid. He studied Economics and Medical Biology at the University of Amsterdam, with semesters at Harvard University and Universidad de Salamanca.
Eszter Sandor is a research manager in the Social Policies unit at Eurofound. She primarily works on the preparation and management of the European Quality of Life Survey and is responsible for the quality of the dataset. Apart from working on the survey, her research focus is on quality of life, including subjective well-being, families, work–life balance and the effects of poverty. She has previously worked as an economic consultant in Scotland focusing on economic impact assessments, evaluations and input–output analysis. She completed a Master's Degree in Economics and International relations at the Corvinus University of Budapest.
is a research officer in the Social Policy unit, where she works on issues related to wealth, the socioeconomic integration of disadvantaged groups and policy evaluation. She joined Eurofound in 2016 and worked in the Employment unit for two years, focusing on labour market issues as well as on the relationship of entrepreneurship, internationalisation and innovation with employment and job creation. Valentina has more than 10 years’ experience in the field of socioeconomic research, carrying out evaluations and studies at EU, national and regional levels. She holds an MSc in Economics and Social Sciences from Bocconi University in Milan and postgraduate certificates in policy evaluation.
Jean-Marie Jungblut is a research officer in the Social Policies unit at Eurofound. Since joining Eurofound in 2009, he has contributed to the annual reports of the European Restructuring Monitor and the European Jobs Monitor. He was also involved in the calculation method for the cost of NEETs and research on human resource management practices and company performance. In recent years, areas of interest in the living conditions and quality of life sphere have included the reconciliation of work and care, mid-career review, housing and social mobility in Europe. He is currently working on in-work poverty. Previously, he worked for the Luxembourg Income Study and CEPS/INSTEAD in Luxembourg. He holds a BA in Sociology from the University of Trier and obtained a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Mannheim while working for the Mannheim Centre for European Social Research.
Daniel Molinuevo works as research officer in the Social Policies unit at Eurofound since 2010. His research on health and social care has focused on the quality and accessibility of services, working conditions of staff and the differences between public and private service delivery. He is currently involved in several research projects analysing digitalisation, leading the work on the impact of digitalisation on health and social services. He studied sociology in Salamanca, Spain and at the Humboldt University in Berlin. He has an MA in European Political and Administrative Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges and an MSc in European Social Policy from the London School of Economics, where he also worked as a researcher.
Sarah Farrell is an administrative assistant in the Social Policies unit. She joined Eurofound in 1994, having previously worked in the European Parliament and the European Court of Justice in Brussels and Luxembourg, and prior to that in the private sector in Ireland.
Javier Bernier is an administrative assistant in the Social Policies unit. He joined Eurofound in March 2001, having previously worked in the private sector in Ireland and Spain.
