Sažetak

Demographic ageing poses the challenge of how to keep people in employment for longer without negatively affecting their health and well-being. The solutions are particularly critical for workers engaged in arduous work. This report examines how mid-career reviews can play a key role by clarifying workers’ options for remaining in work until a later retirement age. Following an exploration of career trajectories and transitions, the report focuses on arduous jobs: their incidence across Europe and the implications of such work for career and work sustainability. It examines various tools and strategies used by public authorities and social partners to keep workers in arduous jobs in employment longer. Finally, three case studies – from Belgium, France and the UK – of mid-career reviews undertaken either as pilot projects or as a legislative reform are presented.

    Starenje stanovništva predstavlja izazov kako dulje zadržati ljude na poslu bez negativnih utjecaja na njihovo zdravlje i dobrobit. Rješenja su od posebne važnosti za radnike koji se bave teškim radom. U ovom se izvješću razmatra kako pregledi na polovici radnog vijeka mogu igrati ključnu ulogu jer razjašnjavaju mogućnosti za ostajanje na poslu do kasnije dobi za umirovljenje. Nakon što su istraženi smjerovi i promjene tijekom radnog vijeka, izvješće se usredotočuje na teške poslove, tj. na njihovu pojavnost diljem Europe te što takav rad znači za održivost karijere i posla. Izvješće razmatra razne alate i strategije kojima se koriste javna tijela i socijalni partneri kako bi dulje zadržali radnike na teškim poslovima. Konačno, predstavljene su tri studije slučaja – iz Belgije, Francuske i Ujedinjene Kraljevine – o pregledima karijera koji su provedeni kao pilot projekti ili kao reforma zakonodavstva.
