The innovation club is a place for information and the sharing of good practices in business management.

Main characteristics

In the innovation club, craft enterprises meet regularly to exchange experiences about innovation in management, marketing, and technical areas. Participants from different sectors are invited to promote the exchange of good practices between sectors. Every meeting is organised around a specific topic: examples include creativity, project management, financing and technology transfer. Topics are usually of general relevance to all sectors. The club can also discuss a specific innovation project of one of the members.

Effectiveness

The club holds about 4 to 6 meetings per year that involve about 40 participants.

Strengths

Visits and meetings can be organised for members if they find they need additional services, such as support around making national or international contacts. Every session is followed by a reception in order to facilitate networking. Subjects that are addressed are of direct concern to all the participants from the different sectors. The number of participants is limited to ensure effective discussions.

In 2016, the innovation club focused on the presentation of different 'good practices' in the digital domain with the example of digital transformation in a bakery introduced in April 2016. The owner of the bakery ‘Pâtisserie Schumacher’ explained how he introduced digitalisation in its activities, with the support of consultants and the public body Luxinnovation. Since then, the bakery turnover has increased by about 12%.
