The IBB consulting is eavailable to enterprises of all sizes.

Main characteristics

The instrument offers consulting services regarding organisational development for enterprises of all sizes. The consulting is realised by several consultancy companies, including Deloitte and ÖSB. The Public Employment Service of Austria is funding the total costs of up to 12 consulting days. Advice topics cover job protection in times of economic fluctuation, vocational training and education, age-appropriate working, gender equality, as well as keeping and integrating staff members.

Response to COVID-19

In April 2020, the AMS has announced that it offers consulting for COVID-19-related issues (for example home office and teleworking) within the framework of IBB (AMS 2020).

Between September 2015 and June 2018, a total number of 4,015 enterprises took part in an inital interview. 1,553 of them participated in an Impulse Check, whereas 1,110 took part in a comprehensive consulting on a specific topic (AMS 2018).


The case-monitoring has shown that SMEs benefit more from the consulting than large companies. Overall, the companies tend to be highly satisfied with the programme. Advisers at the AMS appreciated that the IBB consultations could act as a to improve the relations between customers of the AMS and companies (AMS 2018).
