Business support service database
All enterprises, notably SMEs, but also entrepreneurs creating new businesses, local public authorities and state services.
Launched in 2002 by the Institut supérieur des métiers (Higher Institute of Professions), the French Business Support and Economic Development Observatory, which then became the National Directory of Aids to Businesses and then simply the service Aides-entreprises.fr, is a database providing information on public support instruments available for companies. Information can be filtered by region, sector, project and type of support.
The service has two main objectives:
- direct companies towards public support schemes they can benefit from, including European ones;
- inform public actors (such as local authorities) and professional support networks on the development of public policies.
The service website gives access to companies to a comprehensive database on available public support measures and provides information on how to avail of these measures. The website also offers guidelines on how to apply for public support schemes as well as updates on changes to existing schemes.
It also provides with additional support tools: a mobile app, an online hiring cost simulator as well as a list of web resources.
- National funds
CMA FRANCE- the national public establishment federating the network of chambers of trades and crafts - runs and owns the website aides-entreprises.fr
The database includes 1,918 public financial support instruments available for companies (as of May 2020).
In the COVID-19 crisis context, it also includes a list of financial support tools put in place which are directly accessible from the website homepage.
There are many public support instruments in France and it is not always easy to find the most suitable for individual companies. The internet resources that are made available through the database facilitate access to information on public support for managers and entrepreneurs and help them to make informed decisions. Access to information is free of charge.
Since 2017, the service has been evolving towards an open data platform and provides, since April 2018, a free and unrestricted access to its data on public aids.
