Coverage/Eligibility

All enterprises that are members of the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and which intend to establish export relations for the first time or expand their international coverage.

Main characteristics

The programme provides support related to international activities of eligible enterprises. The key objectives of the programme are to increase the number of Slovenian exporters and the value of Slovenian export, to strengthen its presence in existing traditional markets, to help companies to enter new markets and to strengthen the visibility of the Slovenian economy. About 100 different activities are carried out annually. Activities within the programme are classified into four groups:

  • economic delegations (reception of foreign delegations as well as visits abroad)
  • organised visits to international fairs
  • seminars and business contacts
  • networking of companies as a preparation for an easier entry into foreign markets.

The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce organises events in cooperation with SPIRIT Slovenia - Public Agency for Entrepreneurship, Internationalisation, Fore­ign Investments and Technology, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, and The Chamber of Craft and Small Business of Slovenia.

Effectiveness

The programme contributed to the creation of 200 new jobs in export-oriented companies in 2016 and raised the income from exports by €200 million. The programme facilitated the entry of 100 Slovenian companies in new markets; 40 Slovenian companies entered foreign markets for the first time (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Annual Report 2016, p. 18).

In 2018, Go:International Slovenia carried out 20 visits of delegations, 9 networking events, 100 intermediation of business enquiries, 9 partnership agreements, publishing of 100 business opportunities and administered the Sloexport database (200 new companies registered in the database) (Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, Annual Report 2018, p. 12).
