More power through participation (Mehr Macht durch Mitbestimmung)
Platform workers are likely to be disadvantaged by the platforms they serve without appropriate support. They usually have to comply with the specifications of the platforms through which their work is coordinated and controlled, are left to their own devices and have little social protection. These workers are struggling for more voice and representation. In order to enforce their demands for co-determination, cooperation with trade unions and the appropriate regulations are needed. This article gives an in-depth discussion on how such co-determination and other employee rights can be established in the digital world.
