Mapping youth transitions in Europe
This project investigates the transitions of young people from education to the labour market focusing on the employment trajectories of those young people entering the labour market with temporary contracts. In addition, it provides an overview of good practices in selected Member States promoting the successful transition of young people from education to secure, sustainable employment.
The research covers all Member States and provides a longitudinal analysis of the trajectories from education to employment and from temporary work to permanent employment for young people. Measures aimed at the youth population in general are considered as well as those aimed at young people at higher risk of social exclusion.
Two reports resulted from the research in 2013–2014. The first one deals with Young people and temporary employment in Europe. The other focuses on the transition from education to employment, both for all youth and for groups particularly at risk of exclusion from employment: Mapping youth transitions in Europe.
