Foundation Seminar: Creating more and better employment – A sectoral approach
12-13 May 2004, Brussels

During its four-year programme 2001-2004, the Foundation has developed a sectoral perspective in its work, adopting an integrated approach to improvements in quality of work and life, and to the anticipation and management of change. This enables it to respond to the need for accurate, timely and practical information in the field.

Using the work of the national and consolidated sector reports as its starting point, a seminar took place in May 2004: Creating more and better employment – a sectoral approach. It examined the two sectors of road freight transport, and hotels and restaurants. It provided an opportunity to discuss and put in context practical measures aimed at creating more and better employment, and to promote debate among EU and national authorities, social partners, companies as well as practitioners and experts active in the area.

The presentations from the seminar are available to view as pdf files. See a synopsis of the discussions and conclusions.
