This demographic shift, as well as ongoing threats to the sustainability of national welfare and pension systems, has increased pressure for reforms to encourage longer careers. This report maps initiatives at national or sectoral level taken by governments and social partners to keep older workers in the labour market. Some measures involve financial incentives to work longer while others look at ways to enhance working conditions.

    De rol van overheden en sociale partners bij het aan het werk houden van oudere werknemers

    Auteur(s):
    Eurofound
    In dit verslag wordt gekeken naar initiatieven die in Europa door overheden en sociale partners op nationaal en sectoraal niveau zijn genomen om oudere werknemers aan het werk te houden. Het is voornamelijk gebaseerd op de bijdragen van 28 nationale correspondenten van de Europese Waarnemingspost voor arbeidsverhoudingen en arbeidsomstandigheden (EIRO) en heeft betrekking op initiatieven en maatregelen die zijn geïntroduceerd met het oog op de verbetering van arbeidsomstandigheden, de gezondheid en de werkomgevingen van werknemers en de opleidingen en arbeidskansen van oudere werknemers, waarbij alles erop is gericht te zorgen dat mensen langer blijven werken.
