The third wave of Eurofound’s European Company Survey was carried out in 2013. It surveyed management representatives in over 24,000 establishments; where available, employee representatives were also interviewed – in 6,800 of these establishments. The European Company Survey captured workplace practices in terms of work organisation, workplace innovation, human resource management, direct participation and social dialogue. After setting out the findings, this report then examines how these practices relate to each other and to the outcomes for companies and workers. Overall, the European Company Survey 2013 finds that establishments that used joint employee-management decision-making on daily tasks, have a moderately  structured internal organisation, make a limited investment in human resource management but have extensive practices for direct participation score best both in terms of company  performance and workplace well-being.

    Derde Europese bedrijvenenquête - Praktijken op het werk: patronen, prestatie en welzijn

    Auteur(s):
    Eurofound

    In 2013 werd de derde ronde van de Europese bedrijvenenquête van Eurofound uitgevoerd. De enquête werd gehouden onder directievertegenwoordigers in meer dan 24 000 bedrijven. Wanneer in die bedrijven werknemersvertegenwoordigers actief waren, wat bij 6 800 van die bedrijven het geval was, werden ook die geënquêteerd. Bij de enquête werd gekeken naar praktijken op het werk op het terrein van arbeidsorganisatie, personeelsbeheer, rechtstreekse medezeggenschap en sociale dialoog. In het verslag worden eerst de enquêtebevindingen beschreven, waarna wordt onderzocht hoe de praktijken op het werk op genoemde terreinen zich tot elkaar verhouden en wat het verband is tussen die praktijken en de resultaten van bedrijven en werknemers. In het algemeen luidt de conclusie dat bedrijven waar werknemers en management gezamenlijk besluiten over dagelijkse taken, waar de interne organisatie matig gestructureerd is, en waar beperkte investeringen in personeelsbeheer worden gedaan maar wel uitgebreide praktijken in verband met rechtstreekse medezeggenschap bestaan, het beste scoren wat 'prestatie van het bedrijf' en 'welzijn op het werk' betreft.
