Additional Information

Construction company Acciona has informed the trade unions of its intention to apply for a redundancy procedure (ERE) affecting 175 employees. Dismissals will affect the Acciona Energy section. The company also envisages to implement a temporary dismissals plan affecting 266 employees.

The restructuring plan includes additional measures like relocation, shift changes and pay freezes in an effort to avoid further redundancies. This is the second restructuring announced by the company in less than one year. In August 2012 the section Acciona Infraestructuras (Infrastructure section), specialized in civil engineering, announced a redundancy procedure affecting 200 employees. For previously announced restructurings see Acciona2012 and Acciona2008.

Update 17-05-2013: In May 2013 Acciona proposed a 20% reduction in the number of workers affected by the redundancy procedure. Some 139 employees rather than 175 will be affected. The company will finally offer a dismissal compensation equal to 30 days of wages per year worked up to a maximum of 24 monthly payments.
