Additional Information
As announced on 7 July 2014, pharmaceuticals producer Actavis is to cut 90 jobs at its site in Weiterstadt. According to newspaper reports, the job cuts will make more than every fourth job redundant.
According to the management, job cuts were due to decreasing production. In Weiterstadt, Actavis prepares a drug against Crohn’s disease and packs a drug against osteoporosis. There is no information available on the end date of the measure.
All German and several Western European sites were acquired by Indian Aurobindo in January 2014. Originally from Island, Actavis is an international company with around 10,500 employees.
