Aero Gearbox International (AGI) has announced that it will create 100 jobs at its new production facility in Ropczyce by the end of 2016; in total about 600 positions are expected to be created within five years. The company is currently looking for engineers, chemists, metallurgists, lathe operators and marketing specialists. Some of the employees will be trained in the UK. On first April 2016, the company laid the cornerstone for the plant which is expected to be operational in December 2016. The plant will have an area of m2 12,000 , with an estimated value of the investment at PLN 200 million (EUR 47.09 million, USD 53.64 million). The plant will be the sole supplier of gearboxes for the engines made by Rolls-Royce, including a new model of engine Trent 7000. AGI is a joint venture created by Rolls-Royce and Hispano-Suiza (Safran) in 2014.
