IT company Altran has announced to take over the Orvault-based site and 170 engineers from Alcatel-Lucent in the framework of a partnership.
Alcatel-Lucent had launched a restructuring plan last year, announcing 900 job cuts in France, including the closure of the site in Orvault that employed 510 staff so far. Altran will now create a centre of expertise in Orvault, where around 170 engineers will be hired during the next weeks.
Altran group employs about 20,000 people worldwide. In 2013, the group had announced a restructuring of its workforce in Toulouse (see Factsheet). In 2011, the recruitment of an additional 400 employees was reported (see Factsheet).
