E-commerce company Amazon is to hire 1,800 workers at its new hubs in Fara Sabina (Rieti) and Vercelli.
The company opened in 2011 a first logistics centre in Italy, located in Emilia Romagna (see AmazonIT-2011) and currently employing 1,200 people. It plans to extend its activities due to the increased volume of sales and the need to narrow the distance between the hubs and the clients.
The new sites are expected to open between September and December 2017. The recruitment process has already started and the job creation is expected to be completed within three years.
The new positions will involve mainly blue-collar workers. Yet, the company remarked there will be opportunities for qualified workers as well, including managers.
