German global engineering and electronics group Bosch announced the creation of 2,000 new jobs in Jucu near Cluj in 2012. The newly hired employees will be located in the former Nokia site in Jucu.
Nokia Romania had announced its withdrawal from its factory in Jucu in September 2011 leaving 2,200 people jobless (see here). Now, a number of companies have announced job creation on Nokia's former premises including De'Longhi (see here), Transcarpatica (see here) and Bosch. In total 2,750 job creations have been announced by these three companies.
Bosch, which manufactures electronic components for vehicles amongst others, has been operating in Romania since 1994.
