Additional Information

Ellinika Grammata, a leading Greek publishing house, is closing down and releasing its workforce.

2010 September 6th, The publishing firm, Ellinika Grammata, announced that it would be closing down after 53 years of operation. The publishing house, which has 100 employees, is a subsidiary company of the Lambrakis Publishing Organisation (DOL), which made the announcement of the closure. The publishing firm will discontinue its operation on September 15, at which time the liquidation process will begin. In 2001, DOL acquired a 51 percent stake in the publishing house's share capital, and then the rest of the shares in March 2007. Employees issued a statement saying that they had been given notice that they would all be fired in 10 days and as such they would oppose a move by Lambrakis Press (DOL) to shut the company down.
