Ericsson, the Swedish multinational telecommunications company has announced that it will create 800 jobs across the UK.
Ericsson's workforce expansion, due to the UK's 5G network development, is planned by 2022. The new jobs include project management, build engineering and field operations roles.
Ericsson will directly hire 250 employees, while the remaining 550 jobs will be created by Ericsson's partner organisations.
The company chief executive stated that the further deployment of 5G technology will support job growth and help restart the UK economy.
Ericsson provides a wide range of products and services to telecommunications systems operators in the UK and currently employs 2,500 people.
