Europol-Meble S.A., part of the German holding company PBV Polipol Beteiligungs- und Verwaltungs- GmbH (a furniture producer), will begin investing in the Wielkopolska region, in the Special Economic Are of Kostrzyń and Słubice. It plans to spend EUR 24 million on new facilities for producing wooden furniture frames and upholstered furniture as well as a logistics and financial services centre in Chodzież. During the first phase of the investment, running through 2008, 500 persons will be hired; by 2009, total employment will reach 1,300. Europol-Meble S.A. already has two production facilities in Poland at which it employs approximately 1,000 people; some 90% of their output is exported.
